Check-in Luggage

The weight of each piece of the check-in luggage should not exceed 50 kilogram, and the volume not exceeding 40*60*100 cm. The free baggage allowance for each passenger (including check-in luggage and carry-on luggage): 40 kilogram for passengers who hold First Class adult ticket or children tickets; 30 kilogram for Business Class passengers; 20 kilogram for Economy Class passengers. Passengers holding baby tickets do not enjoy free baggage allowance.

Liquid Items

Passengers may carry a small amount of cosmetics for personal use on the journey. Only one container of each category can be carried with the passengers. The volume should not exceed 100 milliliter. Please pay attention that the volume refers to the volume of the containers rather than that of the item inside the container.

Overweight Baggage

If your check-in luggage exceeds the free baggage allowance specified by the passenger ticket, you shall have to pay an extra fee for the overweight part and fill in an overweight baggage ticket. The overweight baggage charge rate for domestic flights is calculated as follows: 1.5% of the Economy Class ticket price per kilogram. The overweight baggage charge rate as well as its calculation method for international flights is managed in accordance with the regulations of different airlines.

Treatment of the Non Carry-on Items

You should go through baggage check-in procedure for the articles that you can not carry with you at the check-in counter. If the non carry-on articles are detained after security check, you can choose to complete the procedures of check-in and locker service according to your time or you can abandon the articles.

Liability Exemption Baggage

For passengers who want to consign baggage that is not suitable for shipment or baggage that without clear transportation responsibility defined, airline companies shall hang liability exemption baggage tag to the checked baggage under the premise of exempting liability of transportation damage, and shall require the passengers to confirm with their signature.

Items Prohibited in Carry-on Baggage But Permitted in Checked Baggage

In addition to controlled knife, fruit knife, knives for daily use like shaver professional knives like surgical knife and cosmetics are also included.

Items Prohibited in Both Carry-on and Checked Baggage

Items that are prohibited in carry-on and checked baggage for passengers are: guns (including all kinds of simulation toy guns, micro emitter and all kinds of aggressive weapons), ammunition, armament, police weapon, explosives, flammable and combustible articles, poisonous materials, radioactive substances, corrosive corporation, dangerous solutions and other prohibited articles, and neither could the above items be carried on the aircraft or packed into carry-on baggage or checked baggage. Those carrying the above items shall be handed over to the public security organization.

Regulations on Lighters and Matches

On 7 April 2008, the Civil Aviation Administration released an announcement that passengers are forbidden to carry lighters and matches with them when taking civil aviation flights, and are not allowed to pack them into checked baggage.

Categories of Prohibited Carry-on Liquid Articles

Liquid drinks: e.g.: mineral water, tea, sodas, milk, yoghourt and juice, etc.

Toiletry cosmetic items: e.g.: toothpaste, liquid shampoo, bath cream, moisturizer and shaving foam;

Gel items: e.g.: Hair Spray, gel water, etc.

Medicine: e.g.: eye drops, oral liquid medicine or medicine for external use and spray, etc.

Liquid food: sweet bean sauce, bottled or canned goods, etc.

Aerosol: mist spray

Regulations on Lithium Battery Contained in Passengers' Baggage

Transport passengers shall bring their personal-use portable electronic devices containing lithium battery cell or battery as carry-on baggage to board the aircraft, and the nominal capacity of the lithium ion battery shall not exceed 100 watt-hours. Lithium ion battery with a rating between 100 watt-hours and 160 watt-hours may be installed in the devices contained in the checked baggage or carry-on baggage if approved by the carrier in advance. Lithium batteries with a rating exceeding 160 watt-hours are prohibited from carriage.

Spare batteries for portable electronic devices shall be protected individually to prevent short circuit, and can only carried in carry-on baggage. Only 2 Lithium batteries with a rating between 100 and 160Wh that approved by airline companies are allowed to carry by passengers.

Transport passengers carrying lithium battery powered wheelchair or other similar tools for riding instead of walk as well as portable medical electronic device containing lithium battery for medical use, shall obtain the approval of airline companies in accordance with relevant regulations and requirements. Passengers can consult airline companies in advance to seek for help.

It is prohibited to pack lithium battery into the checked baggage. Passengers are not allowed to charge electric equipments with lithium battery portable power source, and shall make sure that the lithium battery portable power source is under inactive state all along.

Vital Document and Valuables

Articles that need to be taken care of by specially-assigned person such as vital documents and files, travel certificate, currency, security, jewelry, precious metal and its products, antique, calligraphy and painting, emergency medical aid items, can not be treated as checked baggage or packed into checked baggage.

Liquor

Passengers are not allowed to carry liquor with them when taking civil aviation flights within the territory of China. But liquor can be carried as checked baggage. The packing of liquor shall comply with relevant regulations on transportation set out by the civil aviation.
