Hohhot Baita International Airport is located 14.3 kilometers east of Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The center of the runway is 5.6 kilometers away from the Wanbu Huayan Confucian classics Pagoda (commonly known as Baita). It was founded in 1958 and was officially recognized and announced by the International Civil Aviation Organization as one of the 14 international regular flight airports in China in 1993.
